Your taste, your control
Privacy policy
Effective September 18, 2026
Flix is designed so you can discover movies and shows as a guest without creating an account. Accounts are optional and add cross-device sync. Anonymous product analytics are also optional and remain off until you choose to help improve Flix.
Information Flix handles
- Guest data: swipes, saved and later lists, rating preferences, and watch progress stay on your device until you clear them or migrate them into an account.
- Account data: Sudosoft ID processes your password, Apple, or Google sign-in and Flix stores the server-owned link to your existing Flix account ID, plus your preferences, decisions, lists, watch progress, and Watch Together connections for cross-device sync.
- Optional usage analytics: after explicit consent, Flix records limited events such as app opens and screen views, the platform, app version, and non-content properties. The API hashes a random installation identifier before storage.
- Support and feedback: when you choose to send feedback, Flix sends your message, reply email, feedback category, app version, device platform, and signed-in account identifier (or a Guest label) to Sudosoft's Zoho Desk account so the team can respond and investigate.
- Catalog data: movie and TV metadata comes from TMDB, with limited future TV schedule supplementation from TVmaze. Flix's server makes those catalog requests.
- Embedded trailers: when you choose to play a trailer, Flix loads YouTube's embedded player. Google and YouTube may receive network information, cookies or similar technologies, app or device identifiers, device-attestation information, and playback interactions.
What Flix does not collect
Optional analytics do not include raw installation identifiers, search text, movie or show names, email addresses, access tokens, precise location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or payment information. Flix does not sell personal information.
How information is used
Flix uses your decisions and watch history to operate your lists, personalize discovery, calculate taste and watch statistics, populate your release calendar, and find mutual titles with a person you connect to through Watch Together. Opted-in analytics are used only to understand basic feature usage, reliability, and product performance. Voluntary feedback is used to answer support requests and improve Flix.
Service providers
Flix uses Sudosoft-operated identity, database, application, and scheduled-job services hosted on OVH infrastructure, Zoho Desk for feedback and customer support tickets, TMDB for movie and TV metadata, TVmaze for supplemental schedule data, Google for optional Google sign-in, YouTube for trailers you choose to play, and Expo/EAS for application builds and updates. These providers process information under their own terms and security practices.
YouTube's embedded player operates under Google's practices. Flix does not receive your YouTube account or YouTube watch history from the player. Review the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service.
Account deletion and retention
- Guest data remains on your device until you reset Flix, clear app storage, migrate it, or uninstall the app.
- Account data remains while your account is active. You can export it or permanently delete the account and associated Flix data from Profile → Account & sync.
- Opted-in usage events are retained for no more than 180 days. Turning analytics off requests deletion of that installation's analytics history.
- Support tickets are retained in Zoho Desk as needed to respond, investigate recurring issues, and keep a reasonable support record. You may ask Sudosoft to delete a support ticket associated with your email.
- Infrastructure providers may temporarily retain security and operational logs according to their own retention schedules.
Request deletion without the app: email support@sudosoft.ca from the address associated with your Sudosoft ID. We will verify ownership, delete the associated Flix product account data, and reply with completion timing. Flix product deletion does not automatically delete a Sudosoft ID that may be used by other Sudosoft products; request identity deletion separately after ownership verification. You do not need to reinstall the app.
Security
Flix uses encrypted network connections, verified Sudosoft ID sessions, server-owned account mappings, row-level database protections, server-only provider credentials, request limits, and restricted data access. No system can guarantee absolute security, but Flix is designed to minimize collected data and limit exposure.
Children
Flix is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so it can be removed. Movie and TV content ratings should be reviewed by a parent or guardian.
Your choices
You can use Flix as a device-only guest, decline or disable analytics, export account data, disconnect Watch Together relationships, or delete your account. For another privacy request you cannot complete in the app, email support@sudosoft.ca.
Policy updates
This page will be updated if Flix's data practices materially change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
